The Virtual Platform is provided as a virtual machine that can be run with the VirtualBox[1] (version 7.0). Using VirtualBox, the platform can be installed and executed on most Windows, Linux and macOS computers.
For the correct operation of the Virtual Platform, it is recommended to make the following resource allocation to the virtual machine in VirtualBox:
Resources | Operational requirements |
---|---|
CPU | 1 |
RAM | 4 GB |
Disk | 30 GB |

Although it is possible to use other virtualisation platforms, the use of VirtualBox is recommended. This is the tool on which the Virtual Platform has been developed, and for which the installation guide of this Wiki has been elaborated. ↩︎
